“We are all morally obligated to do everything we can to oppose a live-streamed genocide that’s being facilitated, supported and defended by the western power structure under which we live. Nothing besides tooth-and-claw ferocious opposition satisfies that moral obligation.”
Mum, dad: what did you do when your government was helping Israel do that genocide in Gaza?
For the second day in a row I’m replicating a Caitlin Johnstone post, in this case an open letter to Western liberals.
Saying “I support a two-state solution” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “I oppose Netanyahu” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying you find the Gaza holocaust “heartbreaking” and “terrible” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “I want there to be peace” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying you think “both sides” should cease their aggressions does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “it’s complicated and I don’t understand it” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “Hamas attacked on October 7” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “the Jews deserve a homeland” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “I’m busy” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
Saying “I’m overwhelmed” does not release you from your moral obligation to ferociously oppose a genocide backed by your own government.
We are all morally obligated to do everything we can to oppose a live-streamed genocide that’s being facilitated, supported and defended by the western power structure under which we live. Nothing besides tooth-and-claw ferocious opposition satisfies that moral obligation.
Don’t tell me about your feelings. Don’t tell me what political positions you support. Don’t tell me what thoughts you privately think to yourself. Do everything you can to stop the genocide that’s being facilitated by your government and its allies.
Nothing else qualifies. Nothing else is defensible. Nothing else will satisfy the questions you’ll be asked by younger generations about what you did during the Gaza holocaust.

Some observations;
Firstly, the opening sections of the Crispin Flintoff podcast highlights a very obvious problem. Which is that the British Establishment have forced a position of shifting the protest narrative away from the actual primary issue of the deliberate extinction of an entire ethnic group of humans towards the totally different issue of the right to protest.
All the emails I am receiving from organisations about the Palestinians right now is not actually about the Palestinians, but about defending the right to protest.
Meanwhile, as highlighted early in this podcast featuring Jeffrey Sachs……
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHzwPbZifMQ&ab_channel=BreakingPoints
…..Tony Blair, along with Jarrad Krushner, was in consultations this week with Trump about the reconstruction of Gaza after it has been ethnically cleansed. A term which is just a polite way of expressing the forced extinction of an entire ethnic people.
A feat which even Hitler did not manage.
One of a number of very obvious conclusions which can be drawn from such a discussion is that the financial centres of London and New York, along with the elites who control those centres and make all the decisions for the bought and paid for political marionettes in various Parliaments and Senates, are signalling very clearly that regardless of BDS, Sanctions, trade boycotts etc designed to collapse the Israeli economy, the Western oligarchy will prop up the economy of its proxy come what may. Even to the detriment of dismantling social security, welfare payments, pensions, subsidies etc of the 99% in their own Country’s.
I’m presently engaged in a discussion on another site on these issues where the view is being expressed that (a) the Zionist project could be economically “crushed”; and (b) citizens across the West could ‘boot out’ “all the Western Leaders who have armed & aided & abetted the Genocidal Land Thieves for a share of the loot”, sending them to The Hague.
Leaving aside the issue of the uni-party problem in what passes for the Western demos, what’s problematic here is that (a) the clock is ticking for what is left of the Palestinian people who don’t have four years for us to change our leaders for another set of stooges who will continue the same policies. People who are not only being slaughtered with ordinance supplied from the West and intelligence from the same spear carriers but are also being systematically starved. After nearly two years of this, at some juncture in the not too distant future, a trigger point will be reached where there is no longer a population left to defend.
One of the outcomes of opening that particular Pandora’s box* is that Hamas will have neither people nor territory left to defend as the bulldozers and cranes of the Western financiers move in to develop Gaza in the same way as they are already doing so in the West Bank. With any remaining members of the Palestinian diaspora scattered and isolated around the globe as easy targets to finish the extinction event.
A policy fully supported by the majority of the populace in Israel as seen in the third video in this article:
https://skwawkbox.org/2025/08/28/video-israel-murdered-journalists-with-3-missiles-not-2/
Such a plausible outcome seems as comprehensive a definition of defeating Hamas or any other opposition as it’s possible to get.
(b) The logical way for the Western 1% to extend its Ponzi scheme investments in Gaza and propping up the Israeli economy which the representatives of that Oligarchy (Blair among others) are discussing with their enforces (Trump and other Western politicians) is to expand the territory of Israel in the region via the Greater Israel/Judea Project. Which seems to be Plan B for the moment given that Plan A, Project Ukraine, is presently going belly up. This puts more resources under Western control – energy offshore of Gaza, in the Golan and elsewhere on newly annexed territory in places like Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt -funnelling profits from excess Western Capital back to the Mother Ship.
Having considered the problems inherent in current opposition strategies to change this situation around: where protest is subtly switched from the primary issue to defending the right to protest; pressure on the Israeli economy through BDS, boycotts, sanctions, trade blockages etc are negated by the financiers propping up their proxy; and the ticking clock on the extinction of entire people which won’t wait for the democratic ducks to be lined up in the West, the issue of how to change this situation around hangs heavy.
Because if it is not changed around, the present trajectory and the velocity of that trajectory suggests that whatever is presently being done to oppose this will not be enough to prevent it. No matter how many people are doing it.
On which note, here’s Judge Napolitano talking to Jeffrey Sachs a couple of days ago with a clip starting at 26:36** of an Israeli Minister bragging about the “unprecedented destruction” with the aim of “defeating Hamas” – which is clear code for defeating any opposition to Zionism, anywhere by anyone regardless of ethnicity – with the words:
“AND THE WORLD IS NOT STOPPING US.”
* Which brings us to the opening of that Pandora’s box of the forced extinction by Genocide of an entire ethnic group. And once that precedent has been set, there’s no putting that Pandora back in its box – with all the consequences that ensue for anyone who steps out of line once the mask is off and the Genie is out of the bottle.
Failure on the part of the world to stop this will only lead to further expansion of this project to take in other peoples to be conquered, subjugated and subjected to the same process.
As matters stand, If there’s another option other than military force beyond ritual condemnation, it would best be useful for the world to get off its arse and apply it before there are no Palestinians left.
With the ICC judgement still not enforced from early last year, the question arises as to what means the ICC or any other talking shop have to ensure and enforce the stated objective of preventing what is taking place before it is too late?
In other words, to paraphrase an anecdotal quote allegedly attributed to Stalin; ‘How many divisions does the ICC, the forensic experts, or non Deep State Controlled and owned NGO’s have?’
Because no amount of pleading, rational argument, protesting in the streets or jumping up and down is going to make a blind bit of difference to:
a) A State whose leadership supported by the majority of its populace openly brag about the fact that they can do what the hell they want to anyone they want with impunity and without repercussion – ‘The World has done nothing to stop us’ .
b) The sponsors and minders of that Colonial Settler State – built in their own image – which, without a hint of irony, refer to themselves as ‘Western Civilisation’.
Given the facts, the only practical way to achieve the objective and to prevent any further death’s and suffering inflicted by these masochistic fanatical zealots seems to be by force of arms. Which is the only language that mindset understands.
The rest of the Arab world are not stepping up to that plate, and the level of trade in key commodities between many of the leading BRICS bloc with Israel suggest that no help will come from that direction. Which leaves Yemen and Iran unless by some twist the Western economies completely collapse before the Palestinian population does.
** Sachs’s response following this clip is also worth listening to.
The Palestine Action acts of mass defiance are organised not by a pro Palestine group but Defend Our Juries. Nothing wrong with that. Empire repression abroad, be it direct or by proxy, has a way of coming back to bite the empire metropolis. There’s no need to argue over primacy of objectives. In this as in other arenas, demanding justice for Palestine and challenging the inroads of our own increasingly repressive state are one and the same struggle.
Yes. But what Dave says: “With the ICC judgement still not enforced from early last year, the question arises as to what means the ICC or any other talking shop have to ensure and enforce the stated objective of preventing what is taking place before it is too late?” is the real question – which leads into: why are Russia, China and the rest of BRICS plus Africa and South America not doing more?
Russia seems to be hampered by illusory ties to ethnic Russian jewish Israelis, China by ? – what? No particular emotional ties to Palestinian, caution when faced by an unpredictable USA? South Africa has been very pro-active in bringing genocide accusations to the UN, but they haven’t had much effective backing from the rest of BRICS, although both Russia and China have made quite forceful statements. There have been other, isolated expressions of support too. But it needs more than that, and very urgently, as Dave says. It seems that not just the west (joke) but the rest of the world are letting the Palestinians down. Only Ansar Allah in Yemen have stood up to be counted, and I applaud them for their courage and determination.
Interesting article here: https://strategic-culture.su/news/2025/08/31/frances-recognition-of-palestine-macrons-rubicon/ suggesting that if France recognises a Palestinian state, it might be more important than the same thing by others.
Thanks Jams. I’ll check it out later today.
And a contrary view here:

Dave Hansells raw appraisal of the current geopolitical balance of forces is stultifying but accurate and there is no going back the dye has been cast the mufti of liberalism is soiled ripped into pieces the limitations of protest are stark only hard bitter resistance can derail or stop this juggernaut of barbarism driven by Israel!
