Incapacitated on the health front, and liking it not one bit, I’m writing more slowly than I’d wish: my aim to put out a same-week post on the BRICS summit now firmly in the not-gonna-happen folder.
But here are three video shorts, the longest eleven minutes, the average under nine. All are chosen for a depth of insight, on the weekend’s events in the Middle East, you’ll struggle to find in mainstream media still unable, after all we’ve seen, to call a genocide a genocide.
However Tel Aviv and Washington seek to hide – the one barely going through the motions, the other surreally reminiscent of Comical Ali – the war crimes in Palestine and Lebanon, the serial incursions in Syria and months of WW3-inducing aggression on Iran, the true intent gets clearer by the day. All should be seen through the lens, because none can be understood without it, of a deathly alliance of the Zionist dream – a Greater Israel promised in Genesis through to Joshua – with Washington’s more secular one of reshaping the region to its enduring advantage.
(As explored in my recent four posts on US Neocons and Israel’s far Right.)

“This absurd offer from the US …”
What would you think of a nominal – however risibly so – third party broker offering your country a way out of its suffering, at the hands of a neighbouring state, by way of unconditional surrender?
When this “broker” is supplying the bombs, planes and missiles to inflict that suffering, and has done so on no fewer than six previous occasions?
When the neighbouring state backed unconditionally by this “broker” makes rabidly clear its plan to swallow your country in its entirety, on the basis of a God’s promise written 2500 years ago?
And when the envoy this “broker” sends to deliver its “peace deal” was born in said neighbouring state, and served in its armed forces?
Here to discuss these matters with their unfailingly waffle-free cogency are the two “self-hating” Jews at the Grayzone. Over to Max and Aaron.

“In the history of empires, one thing makes ours horribly unique”
Larry Wilkerson is another US colonel who long ago broke ranks to subject his country to the force of his considerable powers of analysis and withering articulacy. It may seem I spoke with forked tongue on length, this being close to forty minutes. But the critical part is the opening segment, ending at 07:22, which sees Larry address a peace rally organised by Jose Vega and US presidential contender Diane Sare yesterday in NYC to “build a peace chorus against the ghouls of war”.
Larry splits his seven minute into two parts. In the first he speaks of empires, their rise and inevitable fall – before coming to the one thing that makes the US empire “horribly unique”.
In the second he links the war crimes in Gaza, ongoing and livestreamed, to those of the aerial assault and ground invasion of Lebanon – and both to an escalation chillingly capable of moving at warp speed to a thermonuclear world war three.

Israel uses Arab air space in token strike on Iran
Here’s another video short from Fastepo, the outfit I featured for the first time three days ago in the fourth and final post of US Neocons and Israel’s far Right. The tone attempts neutrality, the presentation is slickly professional. Worth watching for that, and the fact it makes clear that Iran had to have had US permission to fly through the air space of an Iraq it continues – unlawfully and in defiance of Baghdad’s express wishes – to occupy.
