Appeal: Palestine Solidarity Campaign

2 Feb

Like I said early in my post the same day – Has the US empire hit zugzwang? – a shoulder injury ruled out my being at Saturday’s Palestine march in London. I know my absence was noted because on Sunday Simon of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign emailed me in person:

Dear Philip,

Yesterday over 100,000 of us marched through London with 3 demands: end the genocide, hands off Gaza, and stop arming Israel.

Every one of our demonstrations costs us over £30,000 to organise, and we weren’t able to cover this cost with donations on the day. Philip, can you help us cover this shortfall?

While 100,000 may seem a pretty impressive turnout, the half dozen I’ve been on in London – here’s my photo essay on one – since Israel began ethnic cleansing by mass murder in the strip have routinely topped half a million. I hope the eighty percent drop is due to the weather, atrocious even by UK standards, we’re currently enduring.

Not to ‘outrage fatigue’, and to genocide being so-o yesterday.

Meanwhile in response to Simon’s appeal, yes, I can help a little.
