Even non participants observed in silence as we marched today for Palestine. Traffic at road junctions, held back by stewards on bikes, let us pass; soundless save for the single beat, every seven seconds, of our drummers.
Half way down Devonshire Street a young man tried to strike up a familiar call and answer.
‘Free, free Palestine!’
No one responded, and he too fell back into the silence.
