So little. And so-o late …

So:

  • Palestinian statehood is not a right in this execrable man’s view. It is a bargaining chip for a deal with Bibi.
  • He presumes to dictate to the victims of a genocide, one his regime has so richly enabled, as to who will/will not be permitted to govern them.

How about: “as of today we are unilaterally halting all arms, logistical and intelligence support to Israel, and imposing blanket sanctions”?

It’s good Bob Geldof has discovered there’s a holocaust in Gaza. Good too he’s prepared to call out the murderous Israeli regime for the cesspit of bare-faced liars it has shown itself to be.

But what took you so long, Bob?

Caitlin Johnstone, yesterday:

It Shouldn’t Have Taken This Much For Mainstream Voices To Start Speaking Up About Gaza

As western pundits, politicians and celebrities suddenly pivot to denouncing Israel’s genocidal atrocities after two years of silence, it’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago we were being told that saying “death to the IDF” is a hate crime.

Israel’s top human rights group B’Tselem has finally declared that Israel is committing genocide, as has the Israel-based Physicians for Human Rights. The Israeli organizations join Amnesty InternationalHuman Rights WatchUN human rights experts, and the overwhelming majority of leading authorities on the subject of genocide in their conclusion.

The debate is over. The Israel apologists lost. And we are seeing this reflected in mainstream discourse.

Pop megastar Ariana Grande has started speaking out in support of Gaza, telling her social media followers that “starving people to death is a red line.” This is a new threshold. Opposing Israel’s genocide is now the most mainstream as it has ever been.

MSNBC just ran a piece explicitly titled “Israel is starving Gaza. And the U.S. is complicit.”, featuring a segment with the virulently pro-Israel Morning Joe slamming the mass atrocity. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, himself a former AIPAC employee, has done a 180 and is now raking Israel over the coals on the air for its deliberately engineered starvation campaign. The New York Times finally overcame its phobia of the g-word with an op-ed titled “I’m a Genocide Scholar. I Know It When I See It” …

  1. Firstly, following the emphatic Official SOD OFF…….

…..from the Israeli Government to the very idea of any constraints on the Greater Judea Project from the Euphrates to the Gulf and possibly beyond.

Followed by their current chief sponsors equally blunt…….

    (commencing at 9 minutes)…..GTF/GFY

……is there any news/information/clues from Numptyland Central as to precisely where it is envisaged such a State might be located?

The Sahara desert? Sharm El Sheik? Libya? Tunisia? Turkey? Afghanistan? Alsace-Lorraine? The New Forest? Rotherham? A reservation in the Nevada desert? Iceland? The Antarctic? Mount Etna? 404?

‘Cos it sure as hell ain’t going to be anywhere near the borders of Greater Judea. And it certainly won’t be the real estate playground for the Western elite wet dream of Gaza or the already occupied West Bank.

Has anyone opened a book on this yet?

Because my money is on somewhere where there is already an indigenous population who will resent their land being stolen from them to house people recovering from a Holocaust.

Because we all know that’s how the arrogant, ignorant, exceptionalist know nothing, learn nothing British Establishment like to do things.

It worked out so well last time, did it not?

Don’t you just love the Liberal Interventionism of those in the self-identifying “Garden”?

Secondly, from that same Caitlin Johnstone article:

“But now that starvation has hit a critical point and deaths from malnutrition are skyrocketing, now that images of dead skeletal children are filling our screens, now that the damage to organs and brains from starvation will be irreversible in many cases — now it’s enough.

That was the line, apparently. That’s what mainstream western consciousness has decided is too much. Everything up until that line was fine, but now it’s not fine anymore.”

A tentative conclusion which fails to ask the question as to why it is now considered too much at this particular juncture in time.

A blatant clue can found in a six series podcasts featured by North East Bylines and journalist for the Independent, David Keys, featured in a recent Skwawkbox article……

    https://david-keys.com/podcast/israel-and-palestine-episode-1

……which inadvertently reveals that the real breaker is the negative impact this is having on good ol’ Exceptionalist elite Western Liberal Interventionism, its wider Geopolitical project and the maintenance of its hegemonic pretensions rather than any road to Damascus conversion.

Apparently the situation has got to the point where it is undermining “International Law” – i.e The Rules based International Order. Making the West (i.e. the Western Oligarch class and its comprador classes) look bad and hypocritical in front of the Global South/Global Majority vis-a vis their other proxy war in 404 using the Western Oligarchies other neo-Nazi clients.

As though it was not NATO that moved its border a thousand or so kilometres east towards Moscow; or does not have a published policy of Balkanising Russia (and China) into controllable ethnic states to plunder resources in the same way the same Western elites and their comprador puppets (regardless of which nominal first eleven of the Uni-party in administration is batting) have Balkanised Syria, Lebanon, Libya, West Asia (Middle East) and, well, the Balkans.

In much the same way in which the same elites don’t really have a published policy of using Israel to break up Persia (Iran) as a means to continue their ambitions into the Eurasian heartland via the soft underbelly of the Caucuses.

Or have not publicly admitted to instigating a proxy war against Russia or deliberately entering into the Minsk agreements in bad faith, which was designed to buy time for its neo-Nazi proxies to regroup and rearm from the drubbing they were getting in the Ukrainian civil war following the illegal Maidan coup of 2014 whilst shelling and murdering civilians in the Donbass Oblasts (as a prelude to invasion) who speak the wrong language and have the wrong culture and who are considered as “Orcs” in the same way as the Zio-Nazis illegally occupying Palestine consider the Palestinians as equally sub-human cockroaches.

Go tell it to the Marines.

It’s certainly got bugger all to do with suddenly finding a humanitarian streak and everything to do with the optics which are undermining the wider Geostrategic and Geopolitical Great Game objectives designed to impose by force the failed unworkable neo-Feudal paradigm of the self-defined “Garden” onto the rest of the “Jungle” (as ethnocentrically defined by those same Western elite classes) which is the Global majority.

It’s something of a surprise to see Caitlin Johnstone giving the pathocracy the benefit of the doubt given their record.

    • surprise to see Caitlin Johnstone giving the pathocracy the benefit of the doubt given their record

Is she though? I say a fine line has to be trod between my “what took you so long?” – and “welcome aboard”. Out and out opportunist back-covering pace Piers Morgan aside, I’d bend the stick toward the latter. The conversion of Saint Bob (whose Live Aid in the 80s did his flagging career no harm – just saying) may stick in the throat but if we’re truly concerned with the horrendous suffering, we have to be thankful for the many it’ll inspire. I don’t like this any more than you do, especially at side of the real deal celebs – Brian Eno, Roger Waters, Susan Sarandon, Juliet Stevenson, Lowkey – who’ve long been on the right side of history here but, well, better late than never …

  2. Absolutely appalling and ridiculous. Anyone with an ounce of understanding and their eyes open knows the 2 state solution is dead in the water. As you say, where would it be? In the scattered Bantustans of the west bank? The rubble of Gaza?
The British board of deputies, the putative leading body of Jews in the UK, put out a mealy mouthed and dreadful statement, more concerned with protecting their own reputation than any victims of genocide. In contrast see Michael Rosen’s wonderful poem about the nameless dead babies. Now there’s a mensch! Highly recommended

    • I’m a big fan of Mr Rosen. He – like you, Aaron Mate, Max Blumenthal, Jeffrey Sachs, Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky and many other Jews, including truly heroic Israelis like Gideon Levy – stands up to be counted on Palestine’s catastrophe with an energy that puts most of us to shame.

And thanks for declaring in such forthright terms the absurdity, now undeniable, of any two-state solution. As one who’s long dithered on this, I have to say you’re right and I – along with no less a figure than Norman “Holocaust Industry” Finkelstein – was wrong.

  3. Meanwhile, this:

    https://www.moonofalabama.org/2025/08/hala-jaber-what-the-world-is-offering-palestinians-isnt-a-state.html#more

    “Summary:

The two-state solution is dead, if it was ever truly viable. It offers Palestinians neither sovereignty nor justice, serving instead as a distraction from the realities of occupation, displacement, and systemic violence. Clinging to this outdated framework enables the status quo, not liberation.

Palestinians deserve more than a flag over ruins or a seat at a table where their rights are perpetually deferred. True peace requires confronting the root causes of injustice, the Nakba, land theft, and apartheid, and dismantling the systems that perpetuate them. Anything less is not a solution; it’s a delusion dressed as diplomacy.

Recognition without justice isn’t peacekeeping. It’s betrayal, gift-wrapped, so let’s stop pretending this is statehood, it’s not.

It’s PR over policy & fiction over freedom.”
