Palestine Action? Meet Lord Dannatt!

7 Aug

See this morning’s Sqwawkbox post

Defend Our Juries is campaigning to lift the ban on non-violent direct action group, Palestine Action, listed last month by UK home Secretary Yvette Cooper as a terrorist outfit comparable to ISIS or Murder Maniacs Cult. Now the D.O.J. website giving legal advice to anyone arrested for publicly expressing support has been closed down, The Sqwawkbox reports today.

Note to self: write post on inroads into UK civil liberties – unlawful raids, seizures and arrests of journalists, censorship, and breaches of the separation of executive and judicial powers – as Labour and Conservative governments alike stifle protest at their criminal participation in a genocide.

See this Novara Media report. Yvette Cooper – who, like hubby Ed Balls, gets funding from the Israel Lobby – is rattled by widespread sympathy for Gaza’s suffering, and for a Palestine Action taking tangible steps to disrupt the British based enterprises who profit from it.

Arrests of octogenarian vicars and former magistrates make for bad optics! Likewise attempts to blacken their names as terrorist supporters. Better to paint them as naive dupes.

This week Cooper has taken to the TV studios to assure us that Sincere but Deluded of Middle England is being led down the garden path by a Palestine Action which, had they her depth of wisdom, insight and factual knowledge, they’d back away from faster than you can say “Elbit Systems”.

There are just two problems with Yvette’s message as she peers earnestly into our living rooms, wearing the more-in-sorrow-than-anger  face she keeps in a jar by the door:

  • she offers the square root of sweet FA to back her claim that Palestine Action are violent;
  • she repeatedly forgets to tell us her advisors on this matter are, like Mr and Mrs Balls, in cahoots of the most intimate kind with Israel’s hasbara  industry.

Over to Novara Media for eighteen minutes and fifteen on the maze of conflicting interests at play.

  1. Following the forced closure of the DOJ legal advice site, we now have this:

    https://skwawkbox.org/2025/08/08/breaking-met-police-try-to-shut-down-lift-the-ban-zoom-meeting/

“An open call last night for members of the public wanting to take part in a ‘Defend Our Juries’ (DOJ) human rights group’s sign-holding action this weekend was shut down by Zoom, just before it was about to start, after an order from the Met Police.

An email from the Zoom ‘Trust and Safety Team’ informed the organisers that:

‘Zoom has received a request from the Metropolitan Police Service, Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit, London UK seeking to restrict access to users to a meeting scheduled by your account, specifically meeting number 88143893690.’

The move comes in the same week that the DOJ website was put out of action after its hosting provider was threatened by the government or a pro-Israel lobby group. A DOJ spokesperson said:

‘Earlier this week our website was taken down but in less than a day we have a new website. After they shut down our meeting, within half an hour we had another one up and running. And despite having 30 minutes to reschedule, hundreds still turned up.

Who ever thought these things would be happening in this country?'”

How long before DoJ is proscribed?
