At present, as is the case about much of the activities of the Trump Administration, a lot of the focus of discussion is centred on will he, won’t he deploy a National Guard in Chicago in the same way as in other US cities to match his actions to his rhetoric?
As matters stand, the Trump Administration is going to have to up its game in terms of the number of National Guard troops on the Streets of US cities compared to the deployment of the National Guard under Trump’s first Administration in May 2020 which numbered over 60,000:
Either way, the trajectory suggests that what is being designated as ‘late stage Barbarism’ – presently being manifested in its most brutal form in Gaza – is being gradually rolled out (like the fabled frog in the heated pot) in one form or another on the ‘Home Fronts ‘(plural) of a collapsing Empire and its environs.
Variants on that could be closer than presently imagined in some place (at least for now).
